The C2 from Nord is a keyboard with two 61-key manuals and high-quality digital emulations of three classic styles of vintage organs: the Hammond B3, Baroque-style pipe organ with 21 stops, and two transistor organs (Vox Continental and Farfisa). Instead of being a keyboard with some piano sounds and various instruments, and a playing action and effects section that cater to a broad range of sounds, the C2 is organ specific. Every detail from the keybeds, effects (reverb, delay, and EQ), to its inputs and outputs are designed to do one thing and do it well: emulate vintage organs.   Nearly every function on the C2 has a dedicated button or knob with numerous LEDs that make its operation simple and intuitive. There are 20 digitally controlled drawbars on the C2 that are just as easy to use as mechanical drawbars. There's an "Up" button and a "Down" button for each drawbar, and pushing them makes the LED column above go up or down. The great advantage is that you can change instruments, and the LED drawbars will instantly adjust and display in the position they were in when the preset was saved. You can control the rotary speaker simulation with dedicated buttons, a footpedal, or attach a real rotary speaker to its 11-pin output. You can also plug in your iPod or CD player and privately rehearse. All of the organ sounds in the C2 have been painstakingly recreated. When Nord started working on the C2, they already had 10 years of experience emulating the Hammond B3. Because the C2 is a dedicated organ instrument, the designers were able to apply all of their knowledge of the tactile and sonic experience of playing a Tonewheel organ and fully realize its emulation in the C2. The pipe organ has been faithfully sampled to recreate the vast emotive sound of large cathedrals, and the transistor organ emulations have that distinct electric sound of the 1960's. The C2 is a welcome addition to any discerning rock group, house of worship, and any player who truly desires an authentic organ that's lightweight enough to transport to any sized gig.
