Nice clear finish on the Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. The serial number says it was made in April 1995. This particular instrument is one of the early models that is believed to have a lacquer finish , before Taylor started using poly finishes. This is in part why the quality of tone is rich and complex. This model is no longer in production so if you've ever considered this model or wish you had bought one when they were available here's your chance to have a great early model in great shape. This guitar is in mint condition. I bought it second hand last March to play Leo Kottke pieces. It sounds fantastic to me. My family said it’s the best sounding guitar I’ve ever owned. The tuners are the most precise and easy to use I have ever owned on a guitar. I have kept this guitar in a smoke free and humidity and temperature controlled room and have not changed any parts. I only had a setup done by a technician at Mandolin Brothers to make the action and choice of strings of Leo Kottke including a zero fret nut height. That was the only time I took it out of the house. It comes with the original hard shell Taylor case. You are aware of coarse that this is a jumbo size guitar. Well it turned out that this guitar was not the right fit for me. I am a medium size guy and am working a day job a lot while putting little time in on the guitar and am 60 years old so it turns out that at least for now it is too much guitar for me to handle.
