A separate tuning slide for each horn, plus a slide that affects both horns, makes accurate tuning instantly possible. Two pistons are furnished with each horn. (Special Note, only one piston comes with horn Bb--HNW). At you option-by simply changing pistons-the horn can be pitched in either F or Bb with the piston up. White Company LLC this incredible super rare King Schmidt Double French Horn is in good condition considering it is nearly one hundred years old. The nickel silver finish is original and has not been changed in any way, and is 85% perfect. This King French Horn has been fully serviced by our Tech. The valve and rotor valves operate smoothly and superfast. All sections of this French horn are stamped with the appropriately with matched serial numbers. The nickel silver finish is original The finish is 85% perfect There are plenty or scratches on this instrument, none are deep. The French horn has been fully serviced and is ready to play.There are no large dents any were on the French horn.The case is in good condition with all latches in working condition. The case is HN White made but does not come from the same era. Everything works on the case but it has some scratches and dings. The case has both of its HN White emblems. Thomas Music did the work on this horn, here is what they said "It's a standard double horn - F/Bb. The piston valve (trumpet valve) is the "trigger" valve that is depressed to change from playing the F side of the horn to the Bb side. Contemporary horns have a rotary valve, like the other three valves, but some older style horns have the piston valve. It's not as comfortable as a regular rotary valve spatula touchpiece but it's kinda cool."The H. N. White Company was known as one of the finest producers of professional French horns, and you really can see and hear the quality that went into this horn.
