Vintage King H. N. White Trombonium Marching Trombone Unique! Model Number: 1140 Bb Serial Number: 334632 – Crafted in 1953 Bell Diameter: 8 Inches. Bore: .500 Finish: Gold Lacquer. Length: 29.5 Inches Weight: 4 Ibs, 3 ounces. Case: Yes Mouthpiece: Yes, King #28. Trombonium Background: This new instrument designed by The H. N. White Company to displace the valve trombone, is rapidly becoming increasingly popular in marching bands everywhere. Pitched in the key of Bb and possessing the same range and tone quality as a trombone, it has the added advantage of compact construction and easier, faster execution due to the substitution of the valves for the slide. This King Trombonium has one unique feature in that someone added another screw port to secure the bell. This feature helps lift the body of the Trombonium off the ground when laying down which is a good idea. One of the special things about Tromboniums is that it is great for young beginners who have difficulty reaching 6th and 7th position. This trombonium exhibits the marvel of craftsmanship and quality that only The H. N. White Company had. This Trombonium has been restored: · The gold lacquer is new, and I would rate it overall at 99.9% perfect. · The engraving is crisp and intact. · There are a few very small dings. · The valves are fast with almost no air leakage. · The springs are new. · All serial number match. · All slides operate smoothly. · The Trombonium has been serviced. · Comes with MTS case. We have pulled out all the stops to make this Trombonium new again. The Trombonium looks as good as it sounds, with a nice full tone.
