Serial #1285 (and I also have 1283). These flutes are a well kept secret! Amazing instrument and not really all that expensive for what it is.
Compare the price of a silver b-ft pro model Muramatsu, Pearl, or any other Japanese silver pro-model and you'll see the price in the 5,000-10,000 range!! But not the Yamaha model 61. If you want a pro silver flute and don't have the money for the higher ticketed ones, then try my Yamaha #1285 Model 61. If you're really savey, then get both my Yamaha Silver Flutes!!! They are only 2 serial numbers apart and play like hand-made flutes - both very different, yet similar too. How shall I describe the sound? The #1283 is deep and rich, bold, and darker in tone. The #1285 is lighter and silvery. Both flutes are beautiful hand-made and quality instruments. I have used them in numerous professional concerts. If you decide to get one or both you will be amazed at their powerful and rich tone. Both flutes I estimate come from the early 1970's. Both flutes play well and have been freshly oiled. When you purchase it, you can decide if you want me to remove the natural patina (tarnish) or not. I prefer my instruments to have the beautiful color effects of the natural silver. The price listed is for your choice of one of the instruments. The pics are of #1285.
