1926 Ludwig Stipple Gold 'Super Ludwig' Snare : 5 x 14 Only offered in 1926, the Ludwig "Stipple Gold" finish was soon phased out due to its fragile nature. This particular drum features the "Super Ludwig" snare strainer system sporting original art gold hardware and gut snares. A fresh coat of color was most likely applied to the shell years ago to cover blemishes of missing stipple texture. The tension rod clips are newer aztec gold plated steel making this drum complete and readily playable. Four of the ten tube lugs have hairline fractures on one of the balls, but this does not effect tune-ability or playability. All of the snare mechanics work without problem and all adjustments including the tension robs on the extended strainer are smooth. Feel free to email with any questions.
