1964 Fender Vintage Vibroverb Blackface guitar amplifier Chassis # A01413This in my opinion is the ultimate Blackface Vibroverb. I purchased the amp many years ago with the original JBL. At that time, I found the amp to be too clean and slightly brittle for my taste, it actually hurt my ears. I heard a blues player through a Vibroverb with a Jensen Concert speaker like this one and knew it was the right speaker for this amp. I went on the hunt for the speaker installed it in the amp, it sounded fantastic and that was it. The speaker is a Jensen Concert with a ceramic magnet. Date code is 220 621 which translates to the 21st week of 1966. Other reference numbers on the speaker include EM1501 C77352. I kept the JBL for years but lost it during a move. This amp is smooth, has plenty of headroom, with just the right amount of bite. It sounds fabulous with pedals. The amp does begin to break up at a much lower volume than it would take with the JBL. This amp has spent the majority of its life in California and is extremely clean with no rust or corrosion. The chassis is super clean. It don't think there have been any electrical components changed. The original two prong power cable is still in place. Important date codes are as follows: The label is stamped NE - Speaker 220 621 - Circuit AB7-63 - Trans and choke - 606 340 - 606 340 - 606 327 - Cosmetically the amp looks really good with the original hardware (very clean), original tolex, original grill cloth. I have had many blackface Fender amps, and all types. This has got to be within the top two or three in overall condition and performance of all the amps I have owned. I have been unable to locate the footswitch but will continue to look. I do not offer returns on my vintage gear. I describe accurately and pack and ship with extreme care. Check my feedback.
