If you are looking for a "stock" Eric Clapton Stratocaster, this guitar likely not for you and I invite you to get one of the many used/new Clapton Strats instead.
If on the other hand you are looking for a completely custom and unique instrument then you are at the right place!

Disclaimer: a
lthough this instrument is in better condition than the majority of "new" guitars found in local stores, it is still considered a used instrument.
As such it doesn't come with a warranty from Fender Musical Instruments.
This guitar started as a new old stock 2011 Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster, the only sign of use is a superficial ding at the back of the body (around the tummy cut as shown in the close up picture)Not everyone is fond of the neck's V profile, poly finish, and vintage frets. Since I wanted to go for an "all black" look I decided to upgrade the neck to a 1-piece dark Indian rosewood neck made by Warmoth Guitar Products (USA).
When it comes to Fender-licensed necks, Warmoth is one of the finest company. The neck specs are as follows:
1 piece dark Indian rosewood: since it doesn't require a finish, the neck is much faster to play than a maple neck with poly/nitro. Once you try such an exotic neck, it's hard to go back to anything else. It's also a very dense wood giving the guitar an almost acoustic presence and tone when played unplugged.
Standard thin profile: Warmoth's most popular and fast playing neck contour, measuring 0.80" @ 1st fret and 0.85"@12th fret
9.5" radius, mother of pearl fingerboard dot inlays and white side dots.
Graphtech Black XL nut: made of the most slippery nut material, it completely alleviates string binding. Strings just glide back to pitch.6105 stainless steel frets: stainless steel frets have a muck slicker feel and last much longer than nickel frets. The taller and wider 6105 frets further reduce finger friction against the fingerboard for smoother and easier string bending.Kluson locking tuners: while they look like vintage tuners they lock the strings in place, keeping your guitar in tune.
Frets are leveled and polished for low action and slick bending, and the fingerboard edges are heavily rolled to achieve that broken-in feel only found on vintage or Custom Shop instruments.Despite the 1-piece dark Indian rosewood neck, the guitar is well balanced and comfortable at just 8lbs 4oz (keep in mind Eric Clapton Strats are heavier than most due to the 9V battery and especially the stacked coil design of VN pickups).I wanted to keep the electronics completely stock, to do that I carefully swapped the pickup covers using covers from a brand new set of Vintage Noiseless pickups.Hardware and plastic parts were upgraded to brand new black hardware from Fender, Warmoth, and Gotoh.
The pickguard and tremolo cover were custom made by Warmoth using a 1-ply black satin material.
I upgraded the 57-style pickguard shield to a full size Fender aluminum shield.
This completely gets rid of the static from the midboost circuit board you otherwise get with the stock 57-style aluminum shield as you finger touch the pickgard above the midcoast circuit board.Payment: I accept payment via Paypal only. Payment must be received in full within 1 hour of the close of this auction, otherwise a non-paying bidder complaint will be filed with eBay and the guitar will either be relisted or offered to the second highest bidder.Shipping: I will ship via insured FedEx Ground with signature required for delivery. Please note that I can only ship to a confirmed Paypal address.
As usual, if actual shipping cost is less than eBay's estimate I will refund the overpaid shipping, and if it's more I will cover it at no charge to you. Here is the neck freshly received from Warmoth and being prepared for fret leveling and polishing: I wanted to keep the electronics as stock as possible and carefully swapped the pickup covers with black ones from a brand new set instead of swapping the pickups themselves: As mentioned the only ding I could find is this superficial small one at the back of the body:
