Estimated price for orientation: 700 $
Category: Trombones
Class:
Description Brand: Olds Skill Level: Professional Trombone Type: Tenor Exact Year: 1930 to 1932 Finish: gold lacquer Model: Military Bell Material: Brass Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
Vintage Olds Military Model TromboneSerial number on bell is hard to read. Could be 7375, 7875, or 7975. Serial number on slide is 8072.The hammered texture on the bell section was an extra-cost feature. I understand the term "Military" was just a name chosen by Olds to indicate a classy horn, and that these horns were not necessarily used by a military band. The bell section on this instrument is really beautiful; very minor discoloration in a few places, nice engraving, and what seems to be a gold lacquer finish. The inside of the bell flare is smooth. There is no slide or bell lock. The slides move freely. Inner slides are new, and the outer slides and the crook were replaced using newer parts. .485/.500 dual bore. The case has been well cared-for, and is in very good condition. This is a very rare trombone in very good condition.
