For sale is a custom built PA system using the classic Celestion SR 1 speakers, cabinets, and control unit. Custom crossovers have been installed in each speaker to make transition between woofer & tweeter as smooth as possible. This means there is minimal, if any, distortion throughout the range of the speaker. Individual speaker specs: 350 watt, 8 ohm, Speakon and banana plug, 35 lbs. Speaker grills have been powder-coated grey for aesthetics and durability. Power supply paired with Celestion SRC 1 control system in a rack mounted cabinet. This unit is required for the speakers to work. Internal fans installed. The power supply can also power subwoofers, suitable for a small club (approx 500 people). Included with this sale are 12 of the 701 power amplifiers designed by William Dilley of Spectra Sonics. These modular amplifiers are probably the best analog amplifiers ever manufactured. Specifications include a noise level at -122db below maximum rated output. Distortion is below .0018 at full rated power. Each amplifier is capable of producing 80-watts into 2-ohms or 160-watts into 4-ohms when in the bridged pair configuration. Power supply unit weighs 105 lbs. Modified to use Speakon cables. Two 30 foot Speakon cables are included with this sale. Each cable weighs 8 lbs. Speaker stand adapters included to fit on standard stands. Total weight of speakers, cables, power supply & adapters = 191 lbs Weight exceeds ebays estimator for UPS services. Shipping cost will be determined by buyers location and sent as a separate invoice through PayPal. Shipping and packaging will be done through UPS to ensure safety of PA system. System will ship once payment has cleared. // This system was previously used in an indoor studio setting for intimate concerts of voice, piano, guitar, & drums. They beautifully amplified the sound for up to 100 people. This system has been in storage for 2 years and one speaker has a few cat food pieces from a passing mouse. Upon removal of speaker & inspection of cabinet interior, no evidence of damage to wires could be found. Could not locate all food pieces while retaining integrity of original foam. Buyer may want to consider replacing foam.
I'm the original owner of this system, while only moderately versed in it's configuration complexities. A friend built this for me who is a brilliant speaker designer from the 1960's. He designed and installed custom systems for well-known venues including Los Angeles' "The Whiskey A-Go-Go" and San Francisco's "Shoreline Amphitheater". Due to weight and portability, this system isn't practical for my needs anymore.
