The Future Retro 512 Touch Keyboard is a new stage in the tradition of capactive touch keyboards for electronic music. The scaling of the CV out is adjustable, making it compatible with nearly any analog synthesizer. The arpeggiator and sequencer are remarkably flexible, featuring user-definable rhythm patterns, note duration, sustain, and more. User-definable scales and chords offer further customization and area for experimentation. The Future Retro 512 can function as a MIDI to CV converter, even allowing for superimposition of its own system-specific settings on the outgoing CV. This means that incoming MIDI can be transposed at the keyboard or "quantized" to specific scales, clock divisions, etc. Another advanced feature of the 512 is its built in MIDI to MIDI conversion, by which incoming MIDI can also be reformatted with these same system-specific settings before heading to the MIDI OUT jack. Furthermore, the 512 offers a unique Poly MIDI out, with intelligent channel reassignment per note to control up to 16 monophonic MIDI devices simultaneously. All these features and more make the 512 an incredibly flexible and customizable interface for expressive performance.
