This is a very rare colour and a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck Jazz Bass. Lake Placid Blue is one of Fender's most endearing custom colours, it is quintessentially '60's. Other than a professional re-fret this bass is all original, including the case. The finish is remarkably clean, with minimal reaction to UV. Take a look at the pictures with the guard off, you can see very little difference between the unexposed area (under guard) and the exposed body finish. There are only the tiniest of marks to the body. The headstock front has a small cigarette burn just by the E string tuner. The neck pocket shows the first coat of yellow sealer underneath where the paint stick would have been screwed on to pain the body. All screw holes are free of paint. Serial number:151149. Weight: 9lbs 5.5oz. Nut width: 1.5". It plays very well & sounds superb with a straight neck and smooth action after being set up by my tech. The finish shows light checking, which gives it plenty of mojo. the frets are in great condition. The neck is stamped July 66 A. The pots all date to the 18th week of 1966, the pickups have original winds, the foam is stuck to the bottom of the neck pickup, the bridge pickup has the pencil date 7-25-66 written underneath and the pots harness is wired up with the correct cloth wires. Fully set up by my technician with a fresh set of strings. Come and try it out at my showroom in Hoxton, London.*Free UK Shipping* For shipment costs outside the UK please e-mail or call us for a quote.
