Amazing shape, NB on tube chart no major scratches or dings, works 100%, sounds incredible. Very rare. Original speaker (sounds great), some caps have been replaced and its good to go. So many legendary recordings were done using these amps in the 60's and 70's. Incredible tone.A vintage 1964 Fender 5F1 Champ tube amplifier in excellent condition. These were tweed champs made in the year that Fender was switching to tolex for coverings, same box, same electronics, same amp - different look. Only made for one year. Very rare and sought after. Original speaker. This has been gone through by an electronic analyst and has been given a clean bill of health - a few bad caps replaced and some solder points tightened up. Original transformers, given grounded power cord. Have all the original caps. For those seeking (what these amps are sought after for) that warm, rich tube overdrive this one sounds incredible. Breaks up around 5 and at 8-10 is in pure saturation tonal heaven - roll your guitar volume back and it cleans right up. A fantastic sounding tweed-era champ that runs clean and sounds howls like it should, ready for many more years of action. USA made, point to point handwired. Often imitated, never duplicated. Stop chasing that sound in your head with pedals, that "sound" made famous by players like Clapton, Keith, Page and Ronnie Wood didn't come from pedals - it came from low wattage tube amps working at full tilt - natural tube overdrive and the tweed champ is the bench mark that all low wattage tube amps are measured.
