Challen Baby Grand Piano with a Polished Mahogany Case C.1935 A superb Challen baby grand piano made in London circa 1935, serial number 55255. Polished mahogany casework in excellent condition, full overstrung iron frame, 85 note clean original keyboard, adjustable music desk, Herrburger Brooks action, smooth touch and lovely singing tone, square tapered legs and lyre, soft and sustain pedals, well maintained and regularly tuned, cleaned and inspected June 2016. A good quality instrument by the prestigious English maker. Established in 1804, Challen are widely regarded as one of the finest British piano companies in history. Their instruments have been used by many notable musicians and composers around the world and the BBC chose Challen as their brand of choice throughout the twentieth century.
