I absolutely love this guitar and every gig I take it on I get compliments on its tone. I have never been in love with lace pickups or whoever makes these and I figured I would just change the pickups but they just flat sound good on this guitar. My buddy owned a store called the Gear Trader in Huntington Beach California and I occasionally worked there and hung out there quite often. As I was walking the aisles one day I'd always look at our new arrivals and I whacked the bass string on this and it had that ring. When I pulled it down I was struck by how light it was, and that was it, I bought it without even plugging it in. I had seen a lot of MIJ's, and always kick myself in the butt when I passed on them. The maple neck has the larger radius to it or smaller which ever has the more pronounced hump so you can't get ultra low action on the higher outside E & B Strings. I find it is no consequence as a little higher in action always gives a better tone, and the guitar feels quite comfortable with just a little lower action on the D & G going to a smidgen higher on the outside B&E. I've had 1970s 1980s 4 bolts 3 bolts, I see Zero reason why three bolts have gotten any bad rap. I particularly like the neck adjustment as it's quite easy on the road to adjust and climate changes can be hell on guitars. As to climate changes an interesting tidbit about this guitar is it was purchased by the store from a serviceman who bought it new in Japan and I don't know if it's acclimated to many changes traveling around the world on a Navy ship but it's the only one of my collection that didn't need a fret end filing when coming from beach cities California up to Utah. It's had a push-pull added in the middle tone control and the middle tone control has been added to the lead pick up the push-pull allows for all 3 pickups and both outside Rhythm and Lead besides the customary 5 way . I will accept offers on this and all the rest of our items and will consider marking down the whole lot for resale if a store wants to bolster their inventory. Feel free to call me contact me with any questions thank you.
