This is not an original Neumann U47, but a Neumann U47, rebuilt by Blue Microphones probably somewhere in the 90’s. It was originally a U48, hence comes with the cardioid and figure 8 options, and NOT the cardioid and omni. As far as I’m aware that was the only difference between a U47 and U48. This is still a very special microphone, and I prefer it to some of the other original Neumann’s I’ve owned. Its also going for about half of the price of an original U47 or U48. It comes with the EF86 (much easier to get hold of) tube conversion, done by Blue when they rebuilt the microphone.Please feel free to ask further questions. Tx.
