the Special model is fitted with the Deering patented 2010 "special" tone ring.
Comes with the Deering 6 year Goodtime banjo warranty. This is a new banjo, built in 2015; never displayed and in original Deering box. Free shipping within Canada and USA ( lower 48 states ) Most banjo players you meet will tell you they first saw a banjo played in a concert somewhere and immediately ran out and bought their first banjo. They were hooked on banjo for life !The Goodtime banjo is a superb starter banjo, ideal for any beginner but a common choice for summertime "travel banjo" for pro players too.

The Deering Goodtime banjo construction notes: Built entirely in rock-maple. The maple rim is fitted with the Special version of the 2010 ring that was developed for the Deering Eagle 11 banjo. This ring was adapted to the Goodtime banjo format and resulted in an affordable banjo that has tone equal to the new banjos I see in the $1500 to $2500 range.
Clear and powerful "Bluegrass" tone: expressive "pop" to the trebles; full bass with great note separation.
Superb professional quality tone in a low priced and USA made banjo ! The banjo is complete setup with standard action at 5/64 and head tension tuned to G#. Fret level is carefully checked on each instrument and all of our banjos will leave our shop in fully playable condition. It is strung with new D’Addario light gauge strings… but I would be happy to install whatever gauge you prefer and setup according to your right hand attack and action expectations. I have been building, restoring and servicing banjos since 1977. We have 6 full-time Luthiers on staff; all the skills and expertise needed to setup your banjo to suit you.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
