For sale is  a Couesnon Cornet from 1900, in C, B, and Bb, a True Gem that Still Sings.  This is a true vintage and historical instrument.  It was created in honor of the 1900 World Fair in Paris and this is engraved on the cornet.  The coating is mostly intact, except with a small blemish on the inside of the bell.  There is a small dent at the back of the lead pipe. The valves were re-coated by very capable music store of Jon Baltimore in Manhattan.  The valves are fast and all slides are moving.  Following my request, Jon changed the position of the lead pipe support and elongated it in order to play in C.  While playing in C, I used a Trumpet-Cornet adaptor for the mouthpiece.  The adaptor is then inserted into the receiver and the cornet mouthpiece goes into it. Sometimes I used a trumpet mouthpiece directly into the receiver. Playing in B is done with a short extension of the lead pipe, and plating in Bb is done with a long extension (see pictures). This cornet still sings at 116 years of age, a true gem.   The cornet is light, small and comes with a small gig bag.  The cornet comes with it original mouthpiece which is unique in shape and very suitable for this instrument. I also include the original bag which gives an idea of how old this wonderful instrument. This is a true gem that still sings at 116.
