Original 1977 ARP ODYSSEY Mark II Model 2813 Analog Vintage Synthesizer - Needs TLC!Up for auction is this original 1977 ARP Odyssey MK II Model 2813 vintage synthesizer. As you can see by the actual photos, cosmetically it's in great shape, clean, no dings, all original full-size keys intact. It works to a certain degree however, I took it in a vintage synth repair shop and was told that it needs a complete new set of faders and a thorough cleaning internally to bring it back to full function. A full fader set is available through this link; As you can see this kit is $299 US, individual faders are also available for $30 US but, replacing them all is what's needed along with a thorough internal cleaning according to the vintage synth specialists at Synth When. I purchased this beauty with the intention of a full restoration in mind however, time/other projects got in the way so it came down to selling off what I couldn't work on and making room for my projects and family.A bit of history; The legendary ARP Odyssey was the main competitor to the Mini Moog when it was introduced in the mid-seventies and sales were pretty much neck-to-neck for these competitors; "Moog had successfully conjured up a brand new market for portable, user-friendly synthesizers, and American manufacturer ARP knew they needed to get in on the action. Their bulky 2500 and 2600 modular units were popular and incredibly widely used, but it was smaller Minimoog competitor the Odyssey that really captured the public’s imagination. The synth was basically a stripped-down version of the 2600, and turned out to be the company’s best selling synthesizer. It only boasted two oscillators to the Minimoog’s three and was saddled with a comparatively limited filter however, the Odyssey was actually the world’s first duophonic synthesizer – capable of playing two notes at once".My loss is your gain as these machines become harder and harder to find especially in good cosmetic condition. Unlike the KORG version, these originals have the full-size keys and original PPC (Proportional Pitch Controller) set. I will also include my photocopies of the owner's manual and a sample mockup sheet  for fader settings and the ARP Odyssey Guide (all originals are hard to come by and expensive!). Additionally, there are numerous information links, reference documents and user groups for the ARP Odyssey MK II on the web. Please read carefully; Shipping is a flat $100 for North America as this is a large, heavy package. It will be professionally wrapped and shipped with insurance and I'll try and get the best rate/service available. Because this item does need some repair work, it's being sold "as is" and there are no returns. If you have any questions, please ask before you bid and thanks. My feedback speaks for itself and thanks for dropping by. Good luck with all your bids!
