Description
Brand: Gretsch Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
Exact Year: 1960's Round Badge

Offered for sale is a pre-owned 1960's era Gretsch Round Badge 12" X 22" WMP Bass Drum and 9" X 13" Mounted Tom in very clean and detailed condition. The mounted tom is fitted with new Remo Coated SC and Emperor heads and the Bass fitted with new Aquarian Superkick II and Force II heads. Gretsch logo and port trim also planned and included.History: One owner that acquired the set in the 60's and originally as a 2-piece with a Ludwig snare and adding a MIJ 14" X 14" WMP floor tom 15-18 years later...so its possible this was a "One Nighter" offering by Gretsch or from the Progressive Jazz Series...Condition: The Bass Drum's tone control bracket functions beautifully without a muffler attached. There also appears to be a small bracket applied by Gretsch at a ply seam although there is no defect? The tom consolette arrived painted silver in a fixed position. We removed the paint to expose it to its original plated and fully usable condition. Hardware has been highly detailed and shows its age in a graceful way.The mounted tom includes the vintage single flange stick chopper rims, tone controls and mufflers function beautifully. Both drums show fade in the wrap from sun and possibly smoke over the years however condition is very nice. The bearing edges are some of the smoothest we have seen. We took creative liberty with the bass heads that provide a great deep Gretsch tone...un-ported!The 14" X 14" made in Japan (Lazer) floor tom is also included in the sale price if desired by buyer. It is very clean and fitted with new Remo Vintage A heads. It sounds surprisingly good. We rarely work on Gretsch Drums, so there is great hope that these find a good home with the proper new Gretsch owner!
