PLEASE CALL US TOLL FREE FOR AN IN-HAND DESCRIPTIONASK FOR JOHN1-800-800-0087 What makes this guitar special: This is an absolutely killer Thunderbird Bass that has a fantastic all-around playability and tonal character that would suit any style and genre of music perfectly. Outside of its unique look and gorgeous vintage sunburst finish, the sound this bass puts out is one that would certainly turn heads, which is especially impressive given its simple control configuration. Much of that is a testament to the TB+ pickups which have an excellent low end thump, yet maintain a mid-range bite that cuts through the mix quite well. Add that to the awesome slim taper profile of the neck, and you have a fantastic playing bass with looks and sound to match. It is still in great shape for a used instrument, comes with its original hard shell case and a professional set up from our in-house tech, so all you will need have to worry about is tuning it.Condition: This bass is in excellent condition overall. It does possess some surface scratches, mostly in the form of buckle rash on the back of the instrument and near the low E tuner, as well as a few other small dents, dings, and chips, but is in really nice shape overall for a used instrument. The frets are in great shape with only light wear and have a ton of life remaining. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly.Body: Neck-through mahogany and walnut construction with solid mahogany wings in Vintage Sunburst finish. Thunderbird body shape. Black Chrome three point adjustable bass bridge. 3-ply white pickguard with silkscreened thunderbird logo.
Neck: Slim C shape mahogany and walnut neck (.80” at the 1st fret, .96” at the 12th fret). 20 fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays and white side dots. Black Grover sealed gear bass tuners. Gold embossed Gibson logo truss rod cover. 1 ½” nut width. 34” scale length. Electronics: Dual TB+ Thunderbird bass Humbucking pickups. Dual volume and master tone controls. Black top hat knobs with silver inserts. Weight: 8 lbs. 6.5 oz.Playability/Sound: The lightweight body is very forgiving for a bass of its size. The slim profile of the neck, combined with the cutaway design of the thunderbird body shape, makes maneuvering around the fingerboard incredibly easy with fantastic access to the highest registers. The pickups have plenty of low-end rumble with a subtle woody character that comes through when the tone knob is rolled back. The bridge has a touch more clarity and mid-range bite to its sound, but still thumps when you need it to. Case: Includes original hard shell case.
