Description
Up for sale is my 1956 Carvin 1212A 2x12 Guitar Amp. This is a super rare amp and it took me over 5 years to track this one down when I bought it. I need to downsize my amp and guitar collection over the coming months and so I have to let it go. The cabinet and tweed covering are in well used condition. The handle is still attached but just barely. It has had some caps replaced and a grounded 3 prong cord added. The original 1956 Jensen Alnicos are all original! The tubes are a mix of vintage USA made and more recent Mesa power tubes. The amp sounds wonderful! It was clearly Carvin's take on the Fender Tweed Twin. It's not massively loud but it sure is sweet and when overdriven, it has a nice breakup. All 4 inputs work as does the tremolo. There is some slight rattling of the cabinet when it is turned to 10 but it has never bothered me enough to do anything about it and I rarely play it on 10. It is a 60 year old guitar amp and does have a few quirks but it's well worth it. I have played gigs and recorded with it and truly am going to miss it. Overall, this is a very cool and extremely rare old tweed Carvin. I am a huge vintage Carvin fan and am not aware of another one of these outside of the photo in the 1956 and 1957 Carvin Catalogs. Believe me, it took me years to find this one! A true collectors item. I am always happy to accept returns if an item is not as described. I ask that you please study the photos and contact me with any questions. I have been selling on ebay for over 17 years with 100% positive feedback so bid with confidence.
