Up For Auction-  Vintage Elkhart Conn 8D French Horn-  In good condition-  some small dents and evidence of some dent work on the bell but well done and the rim is straight.  Just got back from the repair shop where it was ultrasonically cleaned, oiled and lubricated.   Serial # puts it being manufactured around 1957/58.  The bell says CG CONN LTD, Elkhart, IND, USA.  I'm a woodwind player so I can tell you this about the horn-  all the rotors work smoothly and freely with no clicking or clacking sounds and don't seem to have any wiggle when prodded.  The slides all move freely and make a good "thunk" sound when pulled out.  There is lacquer loss in places throughout the horn-  the mouthpipe is in great shape, no dents/dings or bending/sign of being bent.  Comes with the case pictured which is in good shape as well with what looks to be a replacement handle.  Found at an estate sale and just never got around to learning how to play it.  No mouthpiece included.  Thanks for looking
