Up for sale is my 1990's Washburn J-10 New Orleans. These guitars were made in Japan unlike the current archtop styles that are made in Korea. They are quite hard to come by as they were only made for a couple years. They are also quite desirable because they are an incredible value in tone! I have compared it to other guitars that cost 20 times what this does and when plugged in you can't tell a difference and sometimes this one sounds better. The acoustic sound good but not quite as full as a carved archtop. This guitar has a solid spruce top and is set up with one of the new DeArmond 1100 single coil pickup. That is the real secret- a good guitar with a great pickup. The reissue DeArmond 1100 does a great job replicating the vintage 1100 tone. It also has a custom, very thick, ebony pickguard bound in Ivoroid. I have over $200 in the pickup and pickguard alone. The original guard will be included and it is routed for a full size humbucker. The tuners were upgraded to Shallers with ebony buttons that match the ebony pickguard and bridge. The neck had a harline crack in it that was repaired before I got it and it has been stable and does not effect play in any way. The action is 5/64” on the low E and 4/64” on the high E at the 12th fret. There is some finish checking near the bass side F-hole. This is only finish checking; it is not cracks in the wood. It has some scattered dents and dings from use but no abuse. The nut is 1 11/16th” and the neck is a modern C shape. The body is 3 1/2” thick. It will ship in an older quality hard shell case. Feel free to ask questions and thanks for looking.
