Thought about getting a Gretsch but can't spent thousands on a new or vintage one? Considered getting the less expensive Electromatic versions but hesitant about all the money you'd need to spend in upgrades to get that true Gretsch Sound? I have the solution: an Electromatic 5120 that already has the necessary upgrades to put you in Gretsch Tone Nirvana. I need money, so I'm thinning the herd. This is my Gretsch Electromatic G5120. I have done some upgrades, including a Compton bridge, genuine Gretsch HS Filtertron pickups with TV Jones bezels, pinned the bridge, and I gave it a touch of cowboy with a Longhorn badge at the three-way switch. Comes with a Gretsch gig bag. The renowned Compton bridge noticeably improves tone, and won't grind your hand into hamburger when palm muting, like an adjustomatic bridge will. The pinned bridge keeps the bridge in place when you noodle with that Bigsby tremolo. There are different ways to pin a bridge. I set two headless set screws in the top and correspondingly drilled pockets in the bottom of the bridge to match the set screws. No more sliding or tipping over bridge when the Bigsby slacks the strings. The genuine Gretsch high sensitivity Filtertron pickups give this the authentic Gretsch sound. TV Jones brand bezels give it the right look. Make my wife happy. Make my bill collectors happy. Most of all, make yourself happy with a Gretsch that gives you the look, the sound, and the overall coolness factor without breaking the bank.
