Here we have a 1935 Gibson Super 400 in remarkable condition. As you know, the Super 400 is legendary among Jazz musicians. 1935 was the first full year of production, so this is where the Super 400 began. It's a piece of Jazz history! This guitar is in excellent condition. There is one repaired top crack and a center seam crack also on the top. There is one crack in the side near the butt. The structural integrity of the guitar is fantastic; no issues. The tuners are replacements, likely from the mid 1940's. The plastic heel cap has likely been replaced. The bridge has also been replaced. Everything else appears to be original. The back and sides have a light coat of old overspray, very well done. The top has no overspray. There has been an extra hole drilled near the pickguard mount (could have been for an old pickup? No other signs of a pickup). Overall this is a fantastic piece. It plays very nicely with no issues. It is ready to go with no needed work or repairs.Included with the guitar is original hardshell case. In the case pocket, there are some old music store newsletters from the 1940s and some old bits and scraps of sheet music. I assume they belong to the original owner. He seems to have been a music teacher.Feel free to call me with any questions: 435.406.9281
