Description
Brand: Musser MPN: 991
Model: M100

Up for bid is a near flawless vintage marimba once owned by my father, a professional percussionist trained by his good friend George Gaber. Dad amassed a huge collection of percussion instruments over his lifetime in music, a career which saw him perform with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Joffrey Ballet, and the Penninsula Music Players of Door County, WI. Dad played with musical legends from all over the world of music including Luciano Pavarotti, Karen Carpenter and many many others. This marimba is a 4.0 octave vintage Musser, model 100, serial #991. The rosewood bars are absolutely immaculate and the sound on this piece is just impeccable. This is a must have for any teacher or student, as it is perfect at 4.0 octaves and easier to lug and store than other larger marimbas. Local pickup (Chicago, IL area) only. All serious buyers get a ticket to see the rest of the collection, as well. Don't buy a piece with no background, pick one up with some real history. If you're looking for an instrument with some real soul, this is your piece. Reluctant to do a "Buy It Now" without seeing it in person first? Ebay message me to arrange for a visit before purchasing.
