Description
Country/Region of Manufacture: Sweden

This is a special kind of instrument mainly handmade in small numbers in the Scandinavian countries. It is a nordic mandola aka swedish bouzouki aka låtmandola made famous by renowned world musician Ale Möller. This instrument is made from the great Ola Söderström of Sweden. He does not produce many instruments so these beauties are hard to come by.It has a couple of interesting features. It is a theorbed instrument which means that the bass side is extended. This is to gain the pros of a long scale instrument with deep, full bass without compromising the playability of a shorter scale instrument.
In addition you have something called "pin-point-capos". This is small screws specifically made for this instrument for which you can screw onto small holes in the fretboard making single string capos. With this you can have a lot of different tunings without the need to re-tune the strings. The screws is placed on a wooden docking station on the headstock.Tuned like and octave mandolin GDAE with a low A in the bass.I´m looking to buy a high end mandolin and besides, I have two of these instruments. This one would have to go to finance my new mandolin purchase.
The instrument is in pristine condition. Been taken very well care of in a humidity controlled, non smoking environment. Instrument is situated in Oslo, Norway.
