Description
For your consideration is a 1980's vintage Neumann KM84 up to electronic and mechanical spec. Like the Millennium Falcon, it might not look like much, but it sounds like a million bucks. I bought this 18 months ago from a producer here in Austin, who had purchased it from another producer who was probably the second owner. Just prior to my purchase, it had been gone through by an LA mic tech that the previous owner uses and trusts. He sold it to make way for a matched pair of 84s, but confided that he preferred the sound of this one after all, but had to let it go to help pay for the pair. If I did studio work, I would keep it for sure. It does everything I want and expect from a small diaphragm mic, including having that mojo sound. However, I am specializing in on-location classical and have been discovering my love for wide cardioids in that application, so I'm letting it go to help make room for more wide cardioid mics. Comes with the clip pictured. Somewhere I have the badge for it, but I haven't been able to locate it. When I got it, the badge was not attached, and I never glued it back in place. If I can find it, I will send it either with the mic, or later when it surfaces. Please check out my other items, and feel free to ask any questions.
