Yanagisawa A990 Professional Alto Saxophone Yanagisawa A990 Professional Alto Saxophone This Yanagisawa A990 Professional Alto Saxophone was made in Japan when some of the best Yanagisawa saxophones were being made! Overall the saxophone is in pretty good condition and plays well as is. It has a big tone and is slightly darker than a lot of the more modern Yanagisawa saxophones. The pads look great – plastic resonators installed throughout. It has the plastic thumb hook and plastic thumb rest. There is some pitting and scratching throughout the saxophone, but really not too bad considering the age. The key guard right above the thumb hook has two of the three posts unsoldered, but it is not loose or vibrating. It can be fixed very easily, or left as is and it won’t affect the play ability of the instrument. Comes with original case in very good condition. Also, it comes with a Yanagisawa Hard Rubber Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece, size 3. The mouthpiece is in very good condition as well, some markings, but good condition. The original Yanagisawa neck strap is included as well. Several pictures are included in order to show overall condition. Based on the serial #00190XXX, this Yanagisawa A990 Professional Alto Saxophone was made sometime in the mid 1990’s. Most likely 1996 or 1997. Please let us know if you have any questions.
