This has got to be the coolest tribute guitar we have seen in a while and will be a dream come true for the lucky buyer. Built by Vintage Relic in Maine for a local SoCal musician this guitar aimed to fame an original burst that was known for having a black neck, monster Flametop and early 1960/late 59 appointments such as a full C neck profile. For those who don't know who Vintage Relic is, they are a company that builds custom high end guitars. Their Luthier prides each guitar on the recipes used to build guitars from yesteryear. Old woods, high end materials no longer available and the right touch. Featuring an old growth Honduras mahogany body and neck, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and a reclaimed maple top this guitar weighs in at 8 lbs 14 oz and has rich thick tone. The neck is a 59 spec profile 1 11/16ths inch nut width and has most late 59 to early 60 appointments. It has a warm soft feel and plays better than any modern guitar. The finish is an old school nitrocellulose sunburst finish with cherry back and a neck that was over sprayed black and reserialized. The neck was never broken, the guitar was built like this and is just so cool. It has weather checking throughout and the sunburst has faded to a beautiful tea burst. It looks, feels and sounds like the holy grail it tributes. This guitar was completed a few years ago and has since been around the block but not abused. It has weather checking and aging but no dings or buckle rash. It recently got a pro setup and fret dressing at Ellsberry Guitars in HB and plays amazing. The parts on this guitar are as follows: Area 59 double white PAF pickups Cream Tone pickup rings CPG 59 spec cream pickguard Gibson LP standard jack plate and switch ring Kluson single line deluxe nickel tuners Gibson ABR-1 nickel bridge Gibson light weight nickel tailpiece Gibson historic reflector knobs NOS nylon 50s spec nut CTS 550k pots and bumble bee caps with switch raft switch Gibson strap buttons Plugged in, this thing is a monster. No strat will ever keep up. The tone is well rounded with thick mids and sounds sweet as can be in the neck position. It sustains for days and has that nice chimmey sound you just don't get from new guitars. Please ask for more photos, information and details.
