We've modified the standard model G5422T Electromatic hollowbody by adding gold hardware and beautifully flamed maple body with a natural finish. This guitar is simply stunning! The figuring on every one is phenomenal with tight even grain and amazing depth. We're thrilled to be the first to offer a Gretsch Electromatic in this configuration! This is the newly updated 2015 spec Gretsch Electromatic Hollow Body model G5422TDC. The Gretsch Electromatic hollowbody guitars are some of the most popular on the market due to their tremendous tone and playability with a modest prices.The G5422TDC shares many specs with its vintage predecessors. It's a full hollow body arch top with a floating bridge design and parallel bar bracing with a sound post. The sound post adds stability to the structure and increases sustain while allowing the guitar to retain the essential hollow body sound. The neck angle is just right allowing the guitar to be set up with perfect action all along its 22 frets. The new "Black Top" Filter’Tron pickups are excellent with full bodied tone and a warm vintage character. The bridge pickup is bright and just a bit "twangy" with a well defined mid range and responds very well some overdrive. The neck pickup is mellow and springy with a more "scooped" tonal character and sounds great when played clean. These pickups are a big improvement over the old square "Gretsch-buckers". The out of the box set up on these guitars is great with nice low action and excellent fretwork. The neck is a "C" style shape with a low profile but not too thin.
