National M14 resophonic guitar Here we have a rare opportunity to own a beautiful 14 fret wooden bodied resophonic guitar. in truly excellent condition,  manufactured in the USA by the National Resophonic Guitars company of California.  National are famous for their range of metal bodied resophonic guitars, but the wooden bodied instruments are no less sought after ... this one lives up to all expectations tonewise, and is equally effective played slide or fingerstyle. The M14 has a huge advantage over most resophonic instruments inasmuch as the body joint is at the 14th fret, thereby giving easy reach to the upper frets , especially when played with a slide. If you are used to playing a 12 fret instrument, playing this M14 will come as a revelation.Another huge advantage over the cheaper instruments, such as are found online imported from China, is that the palm rest is detachable by means of a 1/16" Allen wrench ... you can see a close-up of the palm rest and the securing bolts in the pics above. This facilitates matters enormously if, for example,  you want to change  to a different gauge of strings, and wish to alter the action at the saddle. On  a cheap instrument, the resonator cover plate and the palm rest are pressed out of one piece of metal, and in order to get at the biscuit and the saddle, you need to take the strings off, unscrew the tailpiece, and unscrew the 12 screws from the resonator cover.  This is hugely time consuming, fiddly and tedious to do ... on the M14 all you do is unscrew the four bolts securing the palm rest to the cover plate, and you have immediate access to the saddle and the biscuit. As stated above, this is a rare opportunity to obtain one of these magnificent instruments. If you could even find one for sale new, it would retail in the vicinity of £2,500 in the UK. This one is offered at an opening bid of 99p, with no reserve. The guitar will be shipped only to the mainland UK and will be dispatched within 3 working days from date of sale. The auction will close at 9.00 pm on Sunday 11 September.
