The specific models and dimensions of the drums are:
DT-S 1412ML BCH - 14" Diameter x 12" Depth &
DT-S 1614ML BCH - 16" Diameter x 14" Depth. They are From back stock in a music store. No longer made and rare. These drums are from a 7pc kit that was broken up to make a 5pc. The Designer Series in this finish is stunning and probably one of the most sought after, esp. since nobody wants to give them up! Only play tested and in New/Like New Condition(heads have some stick marks)
They are 9, 10 and 12-ply birch (depending on tom size) or 9 and 12-ply maple shells. Split lugs with Tune-Safe. ISS tom mounting system. VERY High Line Drum, as archived by the Sonor Museum. These Maple Light Mounted Toms are 9 plies, (3 Layers of 3ply Maple).
It is quite rare that these sizes become available and I've never seen them as a pair for sale. These drums visually speak for themselves. The Birdseye maple in Cherry is Fantastic.
The engineering of the hardware and ISS mounting system is extremely Solid and dramatic in appearance!Optimized Shell Measurements (OSM) - As can be observed in the photos.
SONOR is using a slightly undersized shell diameter within the Made in Germany item roster. This little detail ensures that the drum head collar and the drums bearing edge meet each other perfectly where it matters.
The result is a head that sits flush with the shell, without any wobbling.
On SONOR drums the heads profile doesn‘t need to be stretched and tightened to sit flat on the bearing edge. All SONOR drums Made in Germany allow the drum head to sit flat which frees the drum breathe into sonic perfection.This is why SONOR drums are so easy to tune and can be tuned from a very low to a very high pitch without losing their sonic voice.
