Beautiful 1979 Gibson Les Paul Standard (Mostly Original). I purchased this guitar in around 2005. When I bought the guitar it was equipped with EMG pickups. The bridge and tuners are original. There are no neck repairs or cracks in the wood. The guitar plays like butter, has a great used/vintage look and sounds awesome. Weighs in at a respectable 9lbs. (per my non-digital scale).Changes I made: At one time I replaced the EMG electronics with other pickups. Since then I purchased a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe and took the stock Gibson-issue electronics (Switchcraft Switch, 490R, Burstbucker Pro, Coil-Tap, Push/Pull Volume and CTS Tone Controls and Knobs) out of that guitar and put them in here. The original switch and ground cup will be included with the guitar. Also, the guitar did not have a pickguard so I added one...it's either a Gibson or Epiphone. I got it from a junk drawer at a Guitar Center. The Case is obviously not original but is a Gibson USA case.So about the condition...the guitar is old. There are dings, scratches, nicks everywhere, paint chips missing near the neck joint (see photos) but overall looks like an instrument that has been played but taken care of - because it is. The chrome on the bridge is oxidized. The frets were leveled at some point. But the guitar plays like butter, stays in tune and the modern electronics sound good. I'm sure many of the screws are not original but if you care about that sort of thing this is NOT the guitar for you. If however you are looking to own a piece of Gibson history and want a great looking, great sounding guitar then this MAY be the guitar for you. Ask questions if you have any doubts.
