Approximately 94% of the original lacquer remains. Other than a few small dents which have been removed over the years, everything else about this horn's condition is outstanding. The neck is original to the horn and has never been bent down. The sax comes in its original case. This sax just received a top of the line overhaul from Eric Beach. He used brass Reso-Tech resonators for the overhaul. These are top of the line reusable resonators. The sax is incredibly responsive and the entire range feels easy and effortless. Plus, this sax has a high F# key which is a must for many players these days.Sonically, the addition of metal resonators to this s/n range seems to do great things. There is a very nice compactness to the tone, but it also possesses some extra brilliance and precision that I think the metal resonators help to achieve. Compared to other Mark VI altos, this one has a tight, expressive core to the sound. I think that it would do equally well in jazz or classical styles.
