This is one of the last great Baldwin Artist Series baby grand pianos made in the U.S.A. It has a high gloss lacquer finish which while not perfect, looks very attractive. But it is the tone and action of this piano that sets it apart. The Baldwin Model M is one of the great American baby grand scale designs offering a richly rewarding bass which is so unusual for a piano of this size. The action is precise with minimal wear. The sound is warm yet projecting – a combination which is rarely experienced in pianos of any size. Baldwin declined as the #1 piano maker to its bankruptcy in the early 2000’s. Today, Baldwin branded pianos are instruments coming out of China which have completely different scale designs from the great American Baldwin pianos like this one. When Baldwin pianos were last produced in this country they cost the same as Steinway pianos. This piano offers the highest level performance in a piano of this size and is in great condition
