What makes this guitar special: A true vintage Hummingbird being offered at an affordable price due to its cosmetic condition. Various repaired cracks throughout the body keep it in a player's grade budget range, but tonally the guitar still has what it takes - classic Hummingbird sound, offering a warm, rich texture & hours of enjoyment. An after-market pickup means you're stage-ready. Professionally repaired by our luthier & set up with fresh strings & low action.Cosmetic Condition: A bit rough around the edges, but still a tasty player - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some finish wear. Multiple repaired top cracks, including two on either side of the neck & one long one extending from behind the treble side of the bridge. The bridge itself is firmly attached to the top, although the top does show a bit of sinking between the bridge & soundhole area. Overall the guitar has a great, well-worn & definitely well-played look to it, with a beautiful patina.Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with nicely aged cream binding & tortoise side-dots. Dark rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl block inlays. The guitar was refretted some time ago & the frets do show some light wear, but have plenty of life in them. Grover Pat Pend. nickel tuners are in perfect working condition, although the B tuner is missing its circular back cover. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & plays great up & down the fretboard. String height at the 12th fret is about 1/8".Body: Square shoulder dreadnought with multi-bound top & back. Solid spruce top with sunburst finish. Rosewood bridge & end pins with pearloid dot inlays. Large tortoise pickguard with hummingbird & floral motif. Mahogany back & sides with multi-colored center strip. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 9 oz.Pickup: After-market, under-saddle pickup powered by a single 9-volt battery attached to the neck block. There are no volume or tone controls.Case: Vintage Gibson chipboard case included. The case is also a bit rough, but still serves its purpose well.
