VMI Model 3171A Euphonium. 4 Valves non-compensating. With VMI Case and B&S 6/1/2 AL Large Shank Mouthpiece, case and mouthpiece came with the horn new. Horn is in Beautiful Condition, no silver plating wear, there are some light scratches and and a few very small dings that won't photograph and are hard to find. All valves and slides work smoothly. Horn is really in excellent condition. Well cared for. This VMI is made in Germany and is top Quality, same quality and large bore as the VMI compensating horns. This would be a great horn for a serious student who wants to play a large bore horn and be able to use the best mouthpieces which are large bore. This horn has a wonderful deep tone and is not stuffy like some compensating horns. I have played both and this horn plays and sounds much better than the Yamaha YEP321 , much bigger sound .Why play that small bore. You may never need a compensating horn with this VMI.
