1967 Gibson ES 330 Cherry Red Excellent Condition 'STINGER' Superdooper rare and collectible. Read up on Gibson 'stingers'. Gibson painted the back of some guitars black if there were imperfections in the wood. I recently ran a UV light over the guitar and the finish appears all original including over the headstock and sure enough in the center of the headstock between the two rows of tuners some filling/resin or the likes showed up beneath the black paint. Only on the back, not the front. This fits with the explanation of the Gibson 'Stinger' history.Comes with non original hard case in excellent condition.Frets are in excellent condition. No sagging/bellying in the top as can be found on some old archtopsHolds tune perfectlyNeck plays like a dreamElectrics all work as they shouldThe old gal has been looked after extremely well with only the mildest of checking evident in the right light. How does the guitar sound? KILLER. Now I know people throw comments like that around but seriously this guitar is truely unbelievable. GROWL!!!!! BITE!!! OUCH !!!One last point to note the D string tuner cover pops off occasionally. I've wound the string on in the opposite direction and this alleviated the problem. Could easily be fixed or replaced but wound in reverse it stays on and holds tune so I just got used to it. Why pay $7000+ for a new one when you could have the real thing? I've listed the guitar on elsewhere for $5000.00 as there are no eBay fees. Get in contact for a deal.
