This is a vintage 1970s Maestro RM-1A Ring Modulator effect box with a Maestro MP-2 foot controller. Designed by Tom Oberheim, this RM-1 is very rare and likely made in 1972. This "pedal" is weird, rare, wacky, and totally awesome. Perhaps one of the best sounding, wildest ring mod sounds available, the RM-1 has three sliders, one for Volume, one for Pitch, and another for Modulation or intensity. It has two switchable ranges, High and Low. It's I/O is on its back panel, including an oscillator output with its frequency adjustable with the Pitch slider as well as an external carrier in.
The MP-2 control pedal can be set up using the two included TRS cables to control both the Pitch and Modulation simultaneously or one or the other independently (just unplug one of the sides)! It needs to be heard - and can be! Be sure to check out our demo below or contact us for a link to the Soundcloud clip. The pedal is in wonderful shape and is all original but its slider caps. The middle slider for Pitch is original but its tip was once damaged but was repaired. This RM-1A is wild and sounds absolutely fantastic!
