DescriptionThis auction is for a Fully Wooden Selmer Model 121 Signet Soloist Oboe in great condition that has been professionally overhauled. This instrument is a fabulous intermediate instrument that will last a student of the oboe for many years before moving up to a professional instrument. Selmer oboes are known for their high quality and simplicity. This particular instrument is all wood, Full range down to low Bb, includes many alternate fingering keys not available on lower models. An all wood instrument allows for better tone and response conpared to resin instruments, and is a good investment for an intermediate level player. The Fully Wooden instrument gives a smoother, darker tone than plastic instruments. The keys are silver plated and look great. This particular instrument is in excellent overall condition. There are only light scratches instrument body from normal use, but they are difficult to see. The wood is crack-free and has a really great grain to the wood. The previous owner engraved a few numbers onto the bell. The case is used, but in good condition. There is some wear on the silver plated keys, but they still look very nice overall. You won't find a better playing intermediate oboe on the market.
