Description
Brand: Gretsch Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
MPN: Bop Kit

8x12, 14x14, 14x18 kick, 4x14 snare. This is a vintage build kit that I made. Built to precise standards to replicate everything possible about a vintage Gretsch jazz setup. Specs: • Floor tom, snare and bass drum are USA Custom by Keller shells, the same 6-ply formula used in the 60's. The rack tom is a USA Custom Jasper shell. Kick drum rims are Precision, basically indistinguishable from old Gretsch bevel contour. • Nearly every last piece of hardware and every fastener and even washer is genuine vintage Gretsch, no Steve Maxwell reissues. The only exceptions are on the snare; lug casings are modern, throw-off arm is replacement. • All hardware placement done to 60’s RB specs. No extra holes anywhere. • Bearing edges era correct reverse round overs on toms, 30 degree interior edge on bass and snare. Wood lightly stained on edges to create an aged look. • Interiors dry-brushed with metallic paint and roughed up slightly to replicate vintage look. • Reproduction paper tags with model numbers affixed. • Pratt muffler in the bass drum has an original felt. • Red sparkle wrap from Precision, best match for vintage Gretsch red sparkle. Affixed with 3M contact cement as they recommend, with seams under hardware. All seams tight, no bubbles anywhere. Includes aluminum kick drum spurs with threaded feet, floor tom legs and cymbal arm. Bass and toms come with a set of 60’s Gretsch vinyl soft cases.  Everything works, nothing is stripped, nothing has been repaired or rethreaded. Zippers on the bags have been lubricated and are smooth. Wonderful for jazz, they tune up beautifully and easily. The bass drum has plenty of depth. Videos of the kit in action  and   The vintage hardware would part out for over $1000. Steve Maxwell’s vintage builds sell for twice this, and he’s not using actual vintage parts.Shipping is flat rate within the Continental US. Buyers not in the Continental US must message me for a quote before buying. Thanks for looking.
