GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE. Get this great wood now!! The best wood in the world. Everything must go by the end of the year. Keep an eye on my offerings here and my website. There will be many more in September. Do not wait. If you see something you like, get it now. This auction is for the Engelmann Spruce Cello top in the pictures. This set is bookmatched. The price reflects the quality level both visually and acoustically. Higher priced is better visuals. Cut in 2012 The SG of these cello top, from a stash I was holding back, is about .35 to.37. Not much big Engelmann tonewood coming out of the mountainsanymore, and I will not be cutting anymore.I have marked the template on what would be the top side of the plate where you do your carving. That template is 29.75" x 8.7" wide (756mm x 221mm) I have allowed 1/8 to 1/4" extra at the glue up edge so that when you prepare that edge for joining you have plenty to work with. (the centerline of the template is not right on the edge, see lines away from the edge a bit) This top is cut from split bolts and air dried, it will give extraordinary sound.
This is excellent quartersawn Engelmann Spruce from Colorado. Cut and split by Simeon Chambers. All my spruce comes from split bolts. Yes, every log is split into chunks before I saw it. These cello sets I have came from log sections (rounds) that I cut at 3 feet long. I then split these rounds into bolts about 5" thick at the outer edge. From these bolts, I cut the cello tops. By using split bolts, runout is minimized because I can see the natural split lines and use those visual cues of the split faces to always saw parallel or in the same plane as those split faces. That is how the best tonewood is produced, and why my wood can help make you have great acoustic success with your instruments.Moisture content about 6% Ready to carve.
Shipping cost: Actual cost based on 11 pounds 1 ounce shipping weight.
Note: Ebay has changed their shopping cart and "buy it now" so much and so often that I do not know what instructions to give so that you get my combined shipping discount. In the meantime, know that if you are forced to pay shipping on each individual item and you overpay by more than $2, I will refund the difference. So, add items and wait for an invoice if you can, if not, do not worry, I will refund overpayment of shipping. Thanks. Simeon
How I ship to you:*** I try to charge close to the actual shipping cost. If you buy multiple items, request an invoice from me so that I can adjust the shipping for you, or, DO NOT pay immediately and I will send an invoice with the proper shipping cost. When ebay calculates shipping for multiple items it is usually too high. The last thing I want is for you to think is that I am trying to nail customers with big shipping costs! Please note: As of September 2015 the USPS is sometimes late in delivering my 2 to 8 ounce packages. They are working on solving the problem. For the record, USPS is the only way I ship because it is the only cost effective way to ship the small items I offer. By using USPS I am able to offer these small items. The other carriers are not an option for me. **** I am using as many as I can of the Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes to ship. These can be a super deal for you. Anything that fits in the box ships for the same price. SO, The two best deals are the Large Flat Rate and the Regional B Box. 23.68 x11.75 x 3 and 15.88" x 14.38" x 2.88". Violin tops and backs fit in the B box, shipping cost is $16 for that box. It will fit 4 one piece tops or backs or 6 two piece tops. The Large Flat Rate Box will fit lots of bracing etc. up to 24" long. Use that as a guideline for ordering multiple items.
1. I ship only via USPS. That is the United States Postal Service. This works most cost effectively for the many small items I ship, as well as international shipments.
2. I generally ship on M/W/F3. For orders under 13 ounces I ship First Class Mail. 13 ounces to about 5 pounds I use Priority Mail. If your total order ends up over about 5 pounds I will ship Parcel Post unless a flat rate box is stated.4. For international orders, over 4 pounds ships via Priority Mail International. Under 4 pounds via First Class Mail. If you buy multiple items, please allow 24 to 36 hours for me to pack, weigh and send the proper invoice. This will make sure you do not pay too much shipping. Then pay the invoice.*****************************************************************************************************************************************************You may contact me via email: simc at Q dot com or 303 507 5225 or via the ebay system.
