This listing is for a very clean 1964 Gibson Mercury I Tube guitar amp head with matching 2x12 jensen Loaded speaker cabinet.
This is a one owner amp that has just been lovingly electronically restored.
Cosmetically the amp and cabinet are very clean. The tolex is in amazing condition with very little wear. Everything is in great condition with no issues. Please see pictures for details.
The amp has just been serviced with an electronic restoration. The Electrolytic capacitors were replaced, A new 3 prong power cord was installed, The power tubes were replaced with a matched pair of JJ 6L6 power tubes and the amp was biased. At this time the 6C4, 6FQ7 and OA2 tubes were replaced with NOS vintage tubes. The 3 6EU7 tubes are vintage RCA which still test strong.The amplifier is in perfect working order. It has nice thick rich clean tone. The amp does break up slightly but its overall a pretty clean amp. It tends to take pedals well and is a joy to play!The amp has two channels and tremolo.
In the amplifier all the important parts are original such as the transformers etc.
The cabinet has a pair of Jensen P12p speakers that are a matched pair and date to 1961. I think originally these cabinets came with low quality speakers and the previous owner wanted to upgrade them. The speakers have been in the cabinet since the 60's!
I will ship worldwideThe amplifier and head will have to be shipped in two packages. The cabinet is quite big for a 2x12 so shipping is not going to be cheap.
