This lovely instrument (Serial number 901 00258XXX) was bought second-hand by my wife from a local music store around six years ago. She has now reverted back to her original instrument... the piano. She was a founder member of Bolton Sax Choir "Midweek Sax" and got much pleasure from this alto sax, as well as a tenor that she also played for a few years. There is minimal lacquer wear. (There are a few light scratches where the neck strap attaches. See close-up image.)It was supplied when bought with a new John Packer lightweight case. This does the job well and has the advantage of having a carrying strap. A mouthpiece is NOT included. (Users of this professional level of instrument will most likely already have their own preferred mouthpiece.) You are welcome to examine and try out this instrument at my home, four miles north of Bolton (Lancs.) but you will need to bring your own mouthpiece.UK bidders only.A qiick search on the internet has revealed this detailed description of the instrument:-FEATURES :- Octave system - Both ends of the octave key axis rotate in a receptacle that is coated to ensure a smooth operation every time. Rocking table mechanism - The C# and Bb keys have a rocking table mechanism that allows for optimal speed and fluidity. F-auxiliary key mechanism - Ensures a proper seal of the pads when playing in the low range of the saxophone. "Indented" white shell keys provide comfort for the player. The pivot screws are pointed to allow an accurate center and precise action. The pads are air-tight and waterproof to extend their life. Blue steel springs provide a quick response and greater durability than stainless steel. The tri-point balanced bell brace firmly connects the bell and the body of the horn. Hand made in Japan. Hand Engraved. Lacquered brass. Post to body construction. High F# key."
