Violin: "Tia Bruna" Guarneri Copy + Bow, Case
Estimated price for orientation: 999 $
Category: Violins
Class:
Description Type: Acoustic Model: Tia Bruna Brand: Supreme Violins Size: 4/4
Great volume and tone for a violin in this price range! This model sells for $2000 new at Superior Violins, which claims it "could easily sell for over $3000". I don't dispute that, but I got a great deal on this used one and am passing the savings on to you.Good looking fiddle, too, even better than I could capture in the pictures. Light wear and a few minor scratches, a little black line on the neck near the scroll, not a crack of any sort, but basically a gorgeous violin.
If you search for "Tia Bruna violin", you can easily find videos online demo'ing this model to get more of an idea of the rich tone. This particular violin is currently set up with Dominant strings with plenty of life left in them, and an Aubert bridge, along with the original sturdy hard case that came with it, shoulder rest, and very nicely appointed bow (gold wrapping and abalone trim) stamped "Pierre Martin".Violins with labels claiming some deceased, famous maker are hit and miss, 99% miss. The labels mean nothing. You're not going to score a genuine Stradivarius on Ebay, nor anywhere else for less than millions. It's a weird fact of the violin trade. This violin is a sure "hit". No famous maker (I'm pretty sure "Tia Bruna" is a made up name by the manufacturer or distributor), just a great violin, based on a classic design, that will serve you well for years to come.
