This is a real rarity, a model only made between 1885 and 1905, featuring the most beautifully figured Honduras Mahogany back and sides, a Red Cedar top, and Ebony fingerboard and bridge. A small bodied guitar with a surprisingly big sound. Tonally it’s rich and warm, equally balanced from bass through to treble, making both fingerstyle and strumming work very well. For a guitar that’s 120 years old, it feels strong enough to take on the road, yet would work very well in the studio - ideal for close micing. The guitar is in very good condition, all original with several tightly repaired cracks. It comes in a non original hard case.
