On offer is a new Vega Little Wonder open back banjo built by Deering Banjos. With the Deering deluxe hardshell case. Comes with the full Deering Lifetime warranty. This is a new banjo, built in January of 2014; never displayed and in original Deering case.This banjo is what is commonly referred to as New-Old-Stock. It has been in storage and never sold. With over 200 banjos in stock I have simply overlooked this banjo as I put more out on display. Since banjos have no "best before date" I don't make any special effort to sell older serial number models.So we are selling this specific banjo at 2013/2014 prices: one only, serial 01129014T735 ( see the photo of the warranty card )

Full setup is included: Nut height, head tension set at G#, capo tacks installed at 7, 9 and 10th fret, action adjusted to 6/64 and complete check-over.
I assume that for most open back players, clawhammer will be the main style played on this banjo: 6/64 action is at the low end of the clawhammer action range. 5/64 is the normal action for Bluegrass but some players play as high as 6/64. If you are playing a mix of fingerstyle and clawhammer then 6/64 is a good compromise. if you are an dedicated Clawhammer player with and agressive right hand attack then I often set higher at 7/64.
You get this banjo in fully playable condition – not just out of the box. As with all of our banjos, it is thoroughly set up to professional standards.
If you have particular setup needs, I invite you to correspond directly with me by email and I will make whatever changes are needed to suit your right hand attack and action requirements.
If you are within driving distance, there is no-charge for follow-up setup and service on any new or used banjo for a full year.

The Vega Little Wonder banjo construction notes: Neck is Rock maple and finished with satin lacquer. The Deering neck is carved to the standard Deering slim C profile neck.
The Deering rim is red maple: so-called "wood tone ring construction" where the rim is milled to the contour of a metal tone ring. The rounded contour of the rim contacts directly with the head offering a warmer and more "woody" tone compared to metal toner ring construction.Built in the spirit of the original 1890s era Little Wonder models, this banjo achieves similar tone but utilizes the best of modern construction methods; most notably the modern truss rod in the neck which is something that was never used in the 1890s banjos.A lovely light weight banjo with a warm and pleasing toneA joy to play !
