Description
I bought this - on impulse - a couple of months ago from a store in Queensland for $1988. It is a great guitar but I'm just not using it so I must sell! Do not confuse this model with the more recent Standard made by Yamaha. While the electronic modelling is the same, the Standard is quite inferior to the James Tyler Variax in terms of build, play-ability and quality. In other words, my guitar is vastly superior to the Standard and represents a good buy. ( In my humble opinion anyway!) The modelling is really good, particularly the acoustic and 12 string models. The guitar is a joy to play, stays in tune wonderfully and the trem is set up floating as it should. I'm asking $1495 direct bank payment please. Shipping is by CouriersPlease. Please contact me for a price depending on your location.
Description: JTV-69 is designed in the classic 25-1/2” scale, 3-pickup tradition. Its alder body, maple neck, and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard produce a bright, percussive snap but can yield plenty of bluesy warmth when required.
The James Tyler Custom Tremolo bridge, which was engineered for increased resonance and improved tuning stability, gives you access to the smooth vibrato action that is a big part of this breed of guitar.
A PAF-style humbucker in the bridge complements the vintage-style single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions. (All are loaded with alnico magnets and wound to James Tyler's specs.) So, if you should unexpectedly experience a flat battery, the Variax can be used as a normal guitar.
JTV-69 guitars are carefully constructed to exacting standards at one of the world's most respected guitar factories. (In South Korea) Upon arrival at its region of sale, each instrument undergoes a high-quality, multi-point setup and inspection.
